Welcome to
TEAMSTER Local Union No.67.
We want to let you know just what being a TEAMSTER should mean to you, and most
importantly, to let you know that YOU ARE THE UNION. The Local is
made up of its membership known as The Union. The Union elects the Executive
Board to govern the affairs of the Local. The Executive Board is a made up of
seven individuals who must have worked in the craft. Your current Executive
Board Members are:
Secretary-Treasurer: Frank Myers
President: John Sminkey
Vice President: Mark A LeRoux
Recording Secretary: Mike Hairston
Trustees: William Anderson, Lawrence Tyree, Marvin Boyd
The Secretary-Treasurer is the principal officer and the Business
Agent of this organization. The current President also holds the position of
Assistant Business Agent. They are the Local's full time employees who represent
the Union. The remainder of the Executive Board have jobs in the industry. It's
important that each member understands their role in this organization.
As a member it is expected that you perform both on and off
the job in such a manner as not to bring reproach against the Teamsters. Putting
it simply, you should show and demonstrate pride in and out of the workplace. It
is up to each member to demonstrate to his employer that because he hires Union
Labor, that employer has the best work force money can secure. In general, this
means working as a "Team of Teamsters" in the performance of your job.
As a member of the Teamster Family you should know that the
Union is about Us. The U stands for Union and the s stands for self. The
self can exist without the Union, but the Union needs the individual in order to
exist. To understand how this relationship works we will explain in more
detail.
